 Office of Immigration Affairs

“Hope in the next generation is how the nation will realize its founding motto, ‘out of many, one.’ In doing so, we will also realize God’s hope for all His children: that we see each other as valued sisters and brothers regardless of race, religion or national origin.”¹
¹“Living as a People of God in Unsettled Times,”
Pastoral Reflection, USCCB, March 22, 2017

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles has a long history of concern and advocacy for the immigrant community. As we work with and minister to our parishes and schools we recognize that Church of immigrants so we take seriously the Gospel call to welcome the stranger among us.
To bring focus and continue to strengthen this important ministry, Archbishop José H. Gomez announced the launch of the Office of Immigration Affairs, which will be dedicated to this work.
