General Information
Christian Leadership Institute (CLI) empowers young Christian disciples by building upon their individual gifts and helping them develop new leadership skills to use in service to their parishes, schools, and the world.  It is an intense week of training during which participants learn new skills, put those skills into action, and explore what it means to live in community.  It requires a lot of work on the part of participants, yet it is fun and exciting.  While CLI is not a retreat, it is grounded in our Catholic faith and includes experiences of prayer and liturgy.

CLI will take place July 21-26, 2019 at DePaul Evangelization Center in Montebello.  Participants are responsible for providing their own transportation.  The cost for CLI is $320 per participant.


CLI Applications
Below you will find the CLI participant application materials.  Please give a copy of the appropriate application form (youth or adult) to each participant from your parish or school.  Each parish/school may send up to five participants to CLI (contact Katie Zeigler at kzeigler@la-archdiocese.org  to inquire about sending additional participants).  Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis.  Spaces can only be reserved by submitting a completed application (including Leader Recommendation) and deposit.

Completed applications must be returned to the parish/school contact person.  The contact person must complete the Leader Recommendation portion of the application, and should review applications to ensure all information has been completed (and is legible if application was completed by hand).

Contact Person Checklist & Coversheet 2019
This form must be completed by the parish/school contact person and submitted with their parish/school's completed applications and deposit(s).
 
This form must be completed by youth applicants and returned to their parish/school coordinator.

Adult Participant Application for 2019
This form must be completed by adult applicants and returned to their parish/school coordinator. A limited number of adult participants may be accepted to CLI if space is available. Compliance with ADLA safe environment requirements will be verified prior to acceptance.


Submitting Application Packets
All applications from a parish/school should be submitted in one packet.  The packet must include a completed Contact Person Checklist & Coversheet, all completed applications (including Leader Recommendation), and the deposit of $150 (or full $320 payment) per participant.  Payments can be made by paying online at the ADLA Store or by submitting a check payable to: Office of Religious Education.  Be sure to keep copies for your records.

Application packets will be reviewed upon receipt.  Coordinators will be contacted as soon as possible regarding any problems accepting an applicant for CLI.  An information packet will be emailed to participants and their parents upon their acceptance to CLI.  The parish/school contact person will be copied on the email.


Fee Information
The cost for CLI is $320 per participant.  A deposit of $150 (or full payment) per participant must be included with application packets.  The balance is due by July 1, 2019.  Payments can be made by paying online at the ADLA Store or by submitting a check payable to: Office of Religious Education.

Cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing by July 1, 2019.  No refunds will be issued after July 1, 2019.

Applicants seeking financial assistance must submit a Scholarship Request Form by June 10, 2019.  Contact Katie Zeigler at kzeigler@la-archdiocese.org  for further information.
 
***Associate Members of the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) receive a $50 discount from the total due for CLI participants from their parish or school (one discount per parish/school). Please include your NFCYM membership number on the Contact Person Checklist & Coversheet when submitting your parish/school's application packet.
